Reports claiming that a POCSO case has been filed against Bandi Sai Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, are currently circulating widely on social media and political circles.
According to the reports being shared, a complaint was allegedly lodged at Pet Basheerabad Police Station by the parents of a 17-year-old minor girl. The complaint reportedly accuses Bandi Sai Bhagirath of forcing the girl to consume alcohol and sexually assaulting her at a farmhouse in Moinabad and at two other locations.
Based on the complaint, police are said to have registered an FIR under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 11 and 12 of the POCSO Act. However, an official detailed statement from the police is still awaited.
Meanwhile, reports also state that Bandi Sai Bhagirath filed a counter complaint at Karimnagar II Town Police Station. In the counter FIR, he allegedly accused the girl’s family of attempting a honey trap and demanding Rs 5 crore as extortion.
As the issue gains traction online, further clarity is expected after an official response from the police or the concerned parties.
