After Maharashtra, the state of Karnataka is the highest in the country, with the most number of coronavirus cases being recorded every single day. The situation of the capital city of Bangalore is especially worrisome, with a record number of cases being reported every single day.
The analysis report released by the Department of Computational and Data Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is now causing a lot more tension, with its analysis figures for the next one month in the state.
According to the report, the number of cases in Bangalore is expected to increase exponentially by the 17th of this month, and it has been estimated that at least 14,000 people will die by the 11th of next month. This report was prepared to keep in mind the current restrictions imposed in the state, to curb the spread of the virus and the rate of vaccination in the state. While this is the number that experts have predicted, they believe that there will be more deaths than this, behind the scenes.
On Sunday, a record number of 47,930 cases were reported in Karnataka, of which 20,897 cases were reported in Bangalore itself. Experts have also said that the situation would have been far worse in the state, had there been no restrictions.
