ReNew Energy Global Plc, a leading decarbonisation solutions company, has announced a massive ₹82,000 crore (US$9.3 billion) investment in Andhra Pradesh to expand its green energy footprint. The new investment includes ₹60,000 crore committed through four MoUs signed with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh.
The projects will include a 6 GW PV ingot-wafer plant, a 2 GW pumped hydro project, a 300 KTPA green ammonia facility, and 5 GW of hybrid renewable projects integrating wind, solar, and battery storage.
Earlier in May 2025, ReNew had pledged ₹22,000 crore for one of India’s largest hybrid renewable energy projects in Anantapur district.
CM Chandrababu Naidu said the partnership marks a major step toward making Andhra Pradesh a national leader in renewable energy, creating jobs, and driving sustainable growth. ReNew Chairman and CEO Sumant Sinha said the expansion will strengthen domestic clean energy supply chains and support India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
The projects are expected to generate over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs while supporting the state’s renewable energy targets of 78.5 GW solar, 35 GW wind, and 25 GWh battery storage capacity.
