After the release of upcoming Tollywood movies such as Love Story, Virata Parvam, Tuck Jagadish, Acharya, Narappa and many others were postponed, the theatrical release of Adivi Sesh’s Pan-India film Major has also been postponed given the second wave of Coronavirus.
Owing to the recent spike in the number of Covid-19 cases and unprecedented times, Adivi Sesh announced on Wednesday that the release will be postponed.
“Our film Major, which was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 2nd July, is now postponed to a later date,” read the statement. The makers will announce the new release date once things are back to normal.
Sharing the statement on social media, the actor wrote, “ReleaseDay of #MajorTheFilm will be my PROUDEST moment. So Let’s celebrate when times get better. Safer. Maamulga undadhu. I Promise #JaiHind IN THEATERS. Will let you know the date!”
Major is based on the life of the 2008 Mumbai attacks martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film is produced by Sony Pictures, GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies. It also stars Sobitha Dhulipala, Saiee M Manjrekar in pivotal roles.
