Janasena which was anticipated to show a considerable impact in the elections, has completely failed in making any such. The party was shockingly restricted to a single seat in the state.
Rapaka Vara Prasad, who contested as Janasena’s MLA candidate from Razole has won with a majority of 3400 votes. He has been the one and only candidate from the party to emerge as the winner.
Pawan Kalyan, who contested in the elections for the first time, in both Bheemavaram and Gajuwaka, was anticipated to win in Gajuwaka for sure, if not Bheemavaram. But shockingly, the Janasena Chief lost with over 8000 votes in Gajuwaka assembly constituency and in Bheemavaram, with 2000 plus votes.
Earlier, it was in the news that, the opposition parties of AP, have played several strategies for the defeat of Pawan Kalyan in both the constituencies.
A few of such strategies are:
1. The opposition parties managed to convince Bheemavaram residents that Pawan would resign over there, if at all he wins in Gajuwaka.
2. Adding to it, the opposition leaders also succeeded in convincing people that Janasena and TDP has a secret alliance and are moving forward with a proper understanding. This made the anti voters of TDP and even those who are in soft corner with Pawan’s party, choose YSRCP over Janasena.
3. The MLAs who contested from the opposition parties in Gajuwaka and Bheemavaram, promised to give lands to construct houses. Reportedly, several crores of rupees have been invested by YSRCP for the defeat of Pawan Kalyan in both the constituencies.
Along with the above, both the big parties of Andhra Pradesh- TDP and YSRCP played several strategies to wipe out Janasena, unwilling to encourage a third alternative in the state.
