The Covid-19’s second wave has impacted the film sector to a large extent. Recently after the cases diminished, Maharastra allowed few lockdown relations, which gave some hope to the film makers as they could film and release films in select places.
Nonetheless, many have not expected that theatres will be allowed to reopen in June. This decision has been taken by the governments of Maharashtra and Punjab. A few other states are anticipated to get in the race down the lane. This prompted the makers of Bellbottom to make a surprise announcement on June 15. Of late Akshay Kumar, who is starring in this flick astonished everyone by tweeting that the period action thriller will hit the silver screens as early as next month, on July 27 I.e Tuesday.
An industry insider disclosed, “The reason is simple. 2+7 = 9. As we all know, Akshay Kumar’s lucky number is 9. Hence, the date on July 27 was selected to release Bellbottom , despite it being a Tuesday.”
When asked if there’ll be only paid previews or will it be a full-day release, the spokesman replied, that a firm decision hasn’t been taken yet. However a full-day release is in the offing.
Generally films are not released during mid days in a week like Tuesday. However, makers seem to be confident about their venture.
