The Telangana government had announced that all educational institutions in the state would be reopened from September 1st, but a temporary break has been caused to this, with the High Court of Telangana passing orders to pause the reopening of educational institutions.
The HC said that residential schools were not to be reopened at any cost, but said that other government and private institutions could be reopened, but that it was up to the parents of the students whether they want to send their kids to school or not. The HC said that no one should be punished if they opted to attend classes online, and expressed concerns over covid 19 protocols being implemented properly.
The HC said that it would be difficult to follow covid 19 protocols in rural areas if schools were reopened. The HC also said that no SOP has been given by the government, and posted the next hearing of the case to October 4th.
