Team India star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has scored a magnificent century against Sri Lanka on Day 2 of the first Test of the 2-match series in Mohali on Saturday. He remained unbeaten on 175 in the match, setting a rare record in Test cricket.
Jadeja became the first Indian to score the most runs in seventh place. Earlier, Kapil Dev, who batted 7th place in 1986 against Sri Lanka, had scored 163 runs. Now, the 33-year-old broke Kapil Dev’s record with his career-best 175.
After Jadeja and Kapil, Rishabh Pant had also reached the landmark with 159 runs. Apparently, the CSK player also became the first player to be associated with three hundred-plus partnerships in an inning while batting at No.7 or below.
Jadeja scoring a century in the first match after returning from injury is being lauded by his fans and cricket loves as well. Meanwhile, India declared their first innings closed on 574 for eight against Sri Lanka.
