Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja, which was released on January 24th, received rave reviews from critics and masses. As Ravi Teja’s previous films were dud at the box office, he had pinned hopes on this science fiction action film but to his disappointment, Disco Raja could not be able to recover 30% of its investment in its first week even.
Moreover, this film did not get enough cinema halls due to biggies Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikuntapuramlo and lack of effective promotions made this movie to become another disaster for Ravi Teja.
In the first week, Disco Raja managed to earn Rs 7.08 Crore worldwide, which is a very low number for Ravi Teja. Though this film opened to average reviews on its first day, slowly, it turned negative and the movie is declared a flop.
Reports say that distributors who shelled out RS 22 Crore on its global theatrical rights were unable to recover even 30 percent of their investments.
