Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s much-awaited sports drama, “83” has finally locked a date to hit the screens. The film’s release got delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. But, now the makers announced that 83 will release in theatres on December 24, right on Christmas eve.
Making the big announcement on Instagram, Ranveer wrote, “The greatest Story. The greatest Glory. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Teaser out now. Trailer out on 30th Nov. #ThisIs83 (sic).”
“83” is based on India cricket team’s 1983 World Cup win. The film has been directed by Kabir Khan. Ranveer plays the role of Kapil Dev, while Deepika will essay the role of his wife.
Apart from Ranveer and Deepika, the film boasts of an ensemble cast, comprising of actors like Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, among others.
The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and will have a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, on the same day Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy will release.
