Rangabali is a romantic comedy drama which is directed by Pawan Basamsetti. The film has Naga shourya, Yukti Thareja, Satya, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, Goparaju Ramana, Ananth Sriram, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Noel, Sarath Kumar, Saptagiri & others in important roles. The music is composed by Pavan CH and the film is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara cinemas.
Story: The movie is all about how a care free youngster (Shourya/Show) from Rajavaram town falls in love with a Vizag doctor (Sahaja) and why the father of the girl (Murali Sharma) is not keen on their wedding. What reservation does Murali have and how does Shourya’s life is interwined with Rangabali center in Rajavaram town, and how he overcomes the problem forms the crux of the story
on-screen performances: Naga Shourya as a care free younger from a town is handsome and did his part well. Yukti got the role of Shourya’s love interest and she did good as well. Satya as Hero’s friend stole the show. If not for him or his comedy character, the movie would have been a Dud. First half of the movie is ok just because of his comedy although there is no story.
Shine Tom, Goparaju, Sarat Kumar did their parts well. Subhaleka Sudhakar, Noel, Murali Sharma are adequate. Ananth Sriram’s casting is an interesting experiment but one would feel he is a miscast. Sapthagiri, Bhramaji and Bhadram are wasted
What about off-screen talents: Although Director Pawan’s story is thin, it is good on paper. But he failed to deliver it on the big screen. One can see that in the 2nd half where the actual story unfolds. He has conceived some of the scenes/shots well but overall he lost track towards the climax and his climax writing is poor.
Editing by Karthika Srinivas is not consistent through out the movie. There are some boring moments which could have been crisp from runtime standpoint. Cinematography by Divakar and Vamsi is good. Music by Pavan CH is weak. Although BGM in some scenes is good, songs are not upto the mark.Art work by Prakash is adequate. Production values are good.
What’s Hot?
* 1st half comedy by Satya
* Naga Shourya
What’s Not?
* Weak 2nd half and Climax
* Music/Songs
Verdict: Overall, Rangabali is a Below average entertainer. It would have been a sure shot success had the director focused more on the 2nd half, Climax and music. Although Satya has given some relief in the 1st half with his comedy timing and dialogues, it may not be enough to make it to the shore. Naga Shoruya might have to wait until his next outing to taste success

First Half Report:
First half of #Rangabali is about hero and his love interest without much story and turns out to be a okay watch because of the comedy content. Music is not great and have lot of dull moments. Depends on the second half of the movie
09.20 PM: Nani moves to village and does things to convince Dr Sahaja’s father to agree for their marriage. Back story of Rangabali comes into picture. Few boring moments in second half of the movie
Final Report:
Rangabali is a social drama that fails to impress for the most part, only thing that is worth mentioning is Satya’s comedy in first half. Weak second half and climax, lack of convincing story line makes it a below average watch.
