Story:
Being childhood classmates and neighbours in the same colony, Rishi( Vaisshnav Tej) and Radha( Ketika Sharma) are seen often quarreling for silly reasons. Eventually, they grow up and join to the same medical college and the cat fight continues. On the other hand, Radha’s brother( role played by Naveen Chandra) is showcased as a person with political interests. How opposite poles, Rishi and Radha attract each other? What is the conflict point in the story which is interlinked with both side families? What will Rishi and Radha do bring a celebration in their family? To know that, you have to watch the film in the nearest cinemas.
On screen performances:
The chemistry between Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma is captured adorably. The lead pair tried to impress with their performances in all key love and family scenes but Vaisshnav Tej has to improve his acting capabilities while performing emotional scenes. To go to the next level, Vaisshnav should focus even more on his dancing skills.
Naveen Chandra is okay in his role that is not designed properly. Same is the case with Subbaraju’s character who is seen as a political opponent to Naveen Chandra.
Noted artists such as Naresh, Prabhu among others are okay in their respective roles but are not utilized effectively. Ali comedy sequence in the first half and Satya’s fun in the second half evoke health laughs.
Off-screen Talents:
Music by Devi Sri Prasad is refreshing at parts. While a couple of songs are engaging, his background score mostly remains us of his previous works.
Shamdat Sainudeen’s cinematography is good as he showcased the entire film on a colourful note. Editing job is okay. Production values for his limited budget movie are good.
Coming to the direction, director Gireeshaaya’s storyline is ages old, though he tried to narrate the first half episodes with fresh treatment, the second half goes for a toss with regular template family scenes.
Positive Points:
- Lead pair
- A couple of songs
- First half
Negative Points:
- Predictable storyline
- Poor writing
- Lack of strong emotions
Verdict:
In an overview, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a romantic family drama that has a passable proceedings in the first half but things turn routine due to ages old treatment in the latter half. One might like the film if the expectations are in check.
