Bollywood star couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have faced a bitter experience in Ujjain as they were stopped from entering the Mahakal temple by Bajrang Dal activists.
Ahead of Brahmastra movie release, Ranbir and Alia visited Ujjain along with director Ayan Mukerji to seek the blessings of the almighty. But the couple faced a shock when Bajrang Dal activists stopped them from entering the temple, citing Ranbir’s past comment on beef-eating.
In 2011, the Bollywood actor while promoting his movie ‘Rockstar’ said he loved eating beef. Protesting against the same, the right-wing activists said, “We are protesting against Ranbir Kapoor and won’t let him enter the Mahakal temple. He made derogatory statements against our gaumata. He had said eating beef is good.”
During the protest, the activists started fighting with police officers. Following this, the cops have taken action under section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code against them.
