From the time, Ram Pothineni announced his collaboration with Puri Jagannadh and released the first look of iSmart Shankar, there was a disturbance to his clean image.
As the teasers, trailers of the film and the aggressive reactions of Ram on the social media have been witnessed for quite some time, everyone felt that the dynamic star was transformed into Puri hero even in real life. But on the pre-release event of iSmart Shankar, the director himself revealed that he has no role in the changed behavior of Ram and he is originally the same.
The recent trailer of the film has received huge criticisms, with Ram saying that he would physically attack heroine after the marriage. Responding to such dialogues in the trailer, Ram clarified that he dis-owns the character of Shankar in the film, clarifying that he is completely different in the real life. He further said that the character in the film demands such kind of dialogues.

It seems, Ram is being cautious as Arjun Reddy director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had to face heat from the pseudo feminists for his comments against women. Meanwhile, iSmart Shankar is heading for a release on 18th of this month. Niddhi Agerwal and Nabha Natesh are going to romance Ram in the film.
