Global Star Ram Charan’s upcoming sports drama “Peddi” is turning into one of the costliest projects in Telugu cinema. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, the film is being made on a grand scale with international appeal.
The budget of Peddi is estimated to cross ₹300 crores. Out of this, the making cost itself is over ₹200 crores. Adding to that, Ram Charan’s remuneration is said to be nearly ₹100 crores, making it one of the highest paychecks ever received by a Telugu actor.
The good news for the makers is that almost half of the budget is already recovered. Audio rights have been sold to T-Series for ₹20 crores, while OTT rights were secured by Netflix for ₹130 crores. Together, that brings in ₹150 crores even before theatrical release.
Trade analysts expect the remaining budget to be recovered through theatrical distribution. In the Telugu states alone, the film is likely to make over ₹100 crores in business. The Hindi dubbed version and satellite rights are also expected to fetch huge amounts.
Overall, the pre-release business target of Peddi stands at ₹350 crores. With Ram Charan’s massive popularity across India and overseas, expectations are sky-high. If reports of Charan’s ₹100 crore remuneration are true, Peddi will mark a historic moment in Telugu cinema in terms of both budget and stardom. The movie is scheduled to release worldwide on March 27, 2026, coinciding with Ram Charan’s birthday.
