An earlier collaboration with a Tamil director Dharani for a sports drama titled “Merupu” was launched but subsequently shelved. Another opportunity arose with director Gautham Tinnanuri, but Charan eventually opted out due to reservations about the script.
Finally, after years of anticipation, Ram Charan has given the green light to a sports story that resonates with him. The film will be helmed by director Buchi Babu, with a bounded script already in place.
