The first edition of the Archery Premier League (APL) will begin with a grand opening ceremony on October 2, 2025, at 7 PM at the Yamuna Sports Complex in Anand Vihar, New Delhi. The event will be made more special by the presence of Global Star Ram Charan, who is also the Brand Ambassador of the league. He will officially inaugurate this new sporting tournament.
The Archery Premier League is India’s first franchise-based archery tournament. It will showcase the country’s top archers along with leading international stars. Six franchises will take part in the league, bringing together 36 of India’s best recurve and compound archers along with 12 international athletes, including some from the world’s top 10 rankings.
In a historic step for the sport, the APL will also introduce a unique mixed format, where both recurve and compound archers will compete together under floodlights. This is the first time such a format is being introduced in world archery, aiming to make the game more exciting and attractive for spectators.
The tournament will run from October 2 to October 12, 2025, at the Yamuna Sports Complex. It has received strong support from World Archery, World Archery Asia, and the Sports Ministry of India.
With the Archery Association of India leading this initiative, and the global influence of Ram Charan as Brand Ambassador, the Archery Premier League is expected to mark a new era for Indian archery. It promises to bring world-class action, wider visibility, and fresh excitement to the sport.
