Ram Charan won NDTV’s True Legend – Future Of Young India award and he gave a thumping speech at the same. Incidentally, he got really emotional on stage.
“Back in 1997, we lost a member who is very close to our family. It was a heartbreaking experience for the entire family. The cause of death is that they couldn’t arrange blood supply at a critical emergency,” Charan said.
“In the 20th century, a person dying due to lack of emergency blood supply is not good. This is when my father Chiranjeevi decided to establish a blood bank. He then introduced a new initiative, saying everyone who donates a unit of blood to the blood bank can get to take a photo with him,” Charan concluded.
On a lighter note, Charan revealed that Chiranjeevi imagined himself in the central role in Magadheera while Rajamouli was giving him a story narration before the commencement of the shoot. “My father jumped out of the seat, thinking he’s doing the role. But then, Rajamouli had to reinstate it was me who was doing the role. That’s how much he enjoys being a part of a film.”
