Getup Srinu is one of the most popular actors on Telugu television. He has now made his debut as a hero with the film Raju Yadav. The trailer caught the imagination of everyone. The social family drama has now been released. Read our detailed review here.
Story
Raju Yadav(Getup Srinu) gets hit by a cricket ball and his face turns into a weird shape. So, for outsiders, Raju’s face looks like he is smiling all the time. Raju approaches a doctor who advises surgery, but Raju is poor. Amidst all this, he falls in love with Sweety(Ankitha Kharat), who changes his life upside down. How will a poor Raju go against all offs and change his face is the basic story.
How did the actors perform?
Raju Yadav has Getup Srinu in a lead role. The film works to an extent only because of his performance. He had to put up a smile in each and every scene and did a great job. Since he is called the Bulli Tera Kamal Haasan, he proved his worth with his performance. The manner in which Srini performed the emotional scenes is one of the highlights of the film. Ananda Chakrapani, who played the role of Srinu’s father, is also amazing in the film. His scenes with Getup Srinu are very good.
Technical Aspects
Krishnamachary has directed this film and his writing is poor. Though he has written a unique role for the hero, his narration is jaded. The emotional depth is missing in the film.
Also, the hero’s behavior in crunch situations looks weird. That means the hero’s emotional imbalance is not showcased properly and lacks basic depth.
The heroine, Ankita Kaharat’s role, does not add much to the film, and we do not connect to her, though she is the driving force in the film. The way she transforms the hero’s life is not that properly showcased.
Raju Yadav had so much scope to elevate the emotional depth in the film, but that does not happen one bit, and the film looks boring in many areas in the second half.
Harshvardhan Rameshwar composed the songs, and only one number is good. The rest of the songs are below par. Suresh Bobbili composed the BGM, and his work is not that great as well.
Sriram’s camerawork is decent, and so is the production design. Apart from the core point, Raju Yadav’s story is very routine and has been showcased in many films before.
What’s Hot
- Getup Srinu’s performance
- A few comedy scenes
What’s Not
- Silly execution
- Lacks basic drama
- Dull in emotional depth
- Dragged storyline
Verdict
Raju Yadav is a film that fails for the most part. While Getup Srinu’s performance is laudable, the rest of the proceedings are dull, boring, and over the top. In a way, the Jabardasth actor’s dream debut fails to impress.
