With a week of starting in-person teaching, few universities in USA reported a spike in the student Covid cases. While 30000 students were studying in University of North Carolina, 177 students were tested Covid positive in the first week. These students along with those who are in close contact to these ones were asked to practice self quarantine. Considering the raising cases, the university decided to move back to online mode.
Not just University of North Carolina, few other schools in USA faced similar scenario. Raising Covid cases among students is not just a damage to the university but also for the city and the nation as the students might infect people at their home and it spreads on.
Most of the Universities decided to move back to online mode from the in-person classes. Few professors and teaching faculty too were said to be infected in the last few days and this is considered to be an alarming situation for the universities.
