Radhe Shyam is an Indian period romantic drama film written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. It is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages. The film is produced by UV Creations and T-Series. The film’s score is composed by S. Thaman for the Telugu version and Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara for the Hindi version.
Story
Movie’s premise is set in 1976. Vikram Aditya (Prabhas) is a top Palmist in India who flees to Italy due to circumstances. He meets Prerana (Pooja) in Italy and falls in love at first sight. The story is all about how Prerana also falls in love with Vikramm and how destiny and fate plays a role in their lives.
What about on-screen performances?
Prabhas is returning to the love drama genre after around a decade. He plays a romantic lover boy in the film. He carries the right look and demeanor for the film. Pooja Hegde looks gorgeous on the big screens. The chemistry between the lead pair lacks punch. Bhagyashree’s presence is adequate. Jagapathi babu’s role is wasted.
Priyadarshi, Krishnam Raju, Sathyaraj, Riddhi Kumar, and others play other important roles in the film. The lead cast perform to the best of their capabilities.
What about off-screen talents?
The director Radha Krishna Kumar pens a proper love drama subject and stays true to the theme through the course of the film without much deviation. The love track between the lead pair deals with the concept of fate and destiny. Prabhas as a palmist and Pooja as a polar minded lady play the lead pair and the sheer contrast in their mindsets forms the emotional core of the film.
The songs are soulful, Thaman’s background score is okay. He has elevated several scenes with his scintillating soundtrack. Manoj Paramahamsha’s cinematography and visual presentation are of elite quality. The VFX works are of top quality. The climax portion is loaded with CGI shots and it is presented very well on screen. The making values are of top quality as well.

Verdict:
Radhe shyam is a slow paced Love saga that tests your patience at times. The much needed chemistry between lead pair is not so effective. Movie is visually grand and has some good songs but lacks emotion. It has a forced climax, however the VFX effects are good compared to what we have seen in Indian cinema in the recent past, but that may not help the fate of the movie. Given the genre of this movie, Prabhas’s current macho image might effect the happenings of the movie in a negative way. Rich Production values and grandeur may bring some class audience to the theaters but overall the movie does not live up to the hype.

Vikramaditya meets with an accident and joins the same hospital where Prerana works. Some comedy scenes between Vikramaditya and Prerana.
1:27 AM IST: Prerana also falls for Vikramaditya. Radhe Shyam song is okay. Vikramaditya predicts a train accident, and that happens. Prerana also believes in Prerana’s Palmistry prowess. Pooja gets sick, doctors predict that she will not live more than 2 months. Vikramaditya says she will live longer.
Interval Report : First half of the movie has little story and is all about establishing the characters. It ends with a conflict between science and palmistry. BGM is good and Photography is top notch. How well the director handles the conflict in the second half is key for the movie.

Final Report: Second half of the movie also a bit slow, chemistry between lead pair is not there either. Even though movie is visually grand and has good BGM, movie lacks emotion. It has a forced climax, however the ship episode scenes are good compared to what we have seen in Indian cinema so far. Production values and Art department are worth mentioning.
