Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday sought permission from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to release 1,000 buses for the stranded migrant workers yearning desperately to return home.
In a letter to the chief minister, the Congress chief said the party will bear costs of their Journey for returning back to native. A delegation drove by UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu and governing body party leader Aradhana Mishra handed handed over the letter by Priyanka at the chief minister’s office here, an Uttar Pradesh Congress representative said.
The Congress chief reiterated that till now 65 migrants have lost their lives in different mishaps while getting back from parts of the nation. They are the back bone of the country, who can’t be left this way, she stated, including that lakhs of migrant workers hailing from Uttar Pradesh are coming back from every nook and corner.
“In spite of repeated earnest requests by the legislature, no appropriate plan has been made for their secure return, “ Priyanka claimed. she appealed CM Adityanath to assist congress in their initiative to help the migrants.
However, in the recent news coverage it is evident that Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath has received heart felt gratitude from labourers based out of Bihar, travelling from other states and crossing Uttar Pradesh to reach their native.
Migrants who are travelling between UP and Bihar border have said that they were satisfied with the arrangements in the Adityanath-lead government. They have shared that their experience has been better in UP than in Bihar.
