YSRCP member and Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy filed a complaint with the Privilege Committee, saying that he was attacked by the police department at Visakhapatnam airport in 2017.
Back in 2017, on January 26th, a rally was conducted in Visakhapatnam, for the special status that the Center promised Andhra Pradesh. The Jallikattu movement was quite strong in Tamil Nadu at that time, and everyone on social media asked the others to participate in the rally, with the same spirit. At first, neither Jagan nor Vijayasai paid much importance to the rally, but once it gained followers and recognition in the state, Jagan and Vijayasai, along with others, hopped onto a plane in Hyderabad and went to Visakhapatnam, to take part in the rally.
Byt the time they reached Visakhapatnam, the police department had already put several restrictions in place. The led to Jagan and Vijayasai not being able to leave the airport. Jagan and Vijayasai then said that the police department would be handled by them once they get to power. Vijayasai behaving in an unruly manner towards police officers was also recorded in video. There is no evidence that the police department had attacked the minister.
With no evidence or proof being found of the same, the case has been dismissed by the Privilege Committee of the Rajya Sabha.
