Among the most in demand directors in South India, Prashanth Neel has certainly earned a top spot, especially after his national acclaim with KGF. His involvement alone often guarantees high expectations.
Bagheera, with moderate hype due to Neel’s name attached to it, did not meet its projected success, leaving fans disappointed.
The film follows Vedanth (played by Sriimurali), a police officer inspired by superheroes since childhood. When a tragedy strikes, he turns into Bagheera, fighting crime at night and facing off against villain Rana (Garuda Ram).
However, with a very predictable storyline and routine treatment by director Dr. Suri, the film lacks a fresh appeal.
Although the action sequences are well-composed, the lack of strong emotional depth fails to deliver the impactful connection seen in KGF or Salaar. Despite fans’ patience, Bagheera leaves them wanting much more from this anticipated project.
