The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu and his family members are currently stationed in the Naravaripalli Village in the erstwhile Chittoor district. They’re celebrating the auspicious Sankranthi season together.
Marking the occasion, Nara Lokesh took the opportunity to get in touch with the locals of his father’s home village of Naravaripalli as he held a Prajadarbar there.
This mass outreach programme formulated by Nara Lokesh could well be one of the most significant development related to local Telugu Desam prospects. This could be regarded as the need of the hour for the local Telugu Desam activists.
Over the last five years during the YCP tenure, the local Telugu Desam leaders in this area were largely targeted by the then ruling party cadres. According to the hearsay in the local political corridors, due to the sheer pressure exerted from YCP high command between 2019-24, the TDP cadres in Naravaripalli went through a lot.
The notion set by YCP was to outrightly dominate Babu’s home village by winning this panchayat seat in the local body elections. During the local body election some three years back, it is said by locals that YCP cadres bamboozled TDP activists with sheer political pressure and nullified them pksycially and mentally in order to win the Naravaripalli local election at all costs.
This was all an attempt to get the bragging rights of having won the local election in Chandrababu’s own Naravaripalli. As a result, the local TDP cadres went through a lot.
Now, it is good that Nara Lokesh who has been pretty much running the back-end operations for TDP is back in Naravaripalli and indulging in local politics. This could be a crucial step in resurrecting TDP’s fundamental structuring in this crucial belt.
After having won the Chandragiri assembly seat after many years, the local TDP cadres must be rejoicing the presence of Nara Lokesh and Chandrababu here. Back in the day, it was Babu who was overseeing the operations here and the transition is slowly happening to being Lokesh in the foreground.
