Prabhas’ recently unveiled wax statue in Mysore has sparked controversy among fans and well-wishers due to its lack of resemblance to the ‘Rebel Star.’ Many fans are calling for its removal, as the only recognizable feature is the Baahubali costume.
Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda has also taken notice of this issue and emphasized that this statue is not officially licensed. He has pledged to take necessary actions to have it removed. As the owner of all rights related to the Baahubali franchise, Shobu’s permission is mandatory for any commercial activities involving its elements.
It’s worth noting that Prabhas already has a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok, making him the first South Indian actor to achieve this honor.
The creation of that statue followed all necessary protocols, including permissions and measurements. The next steps Shobu Yarlagadda takes will be closely watched, as this controversy continues to unfold, casting a shadow over the statue’s presence in Mysore.
