Hyderabad: While numerous Covid cases are currently still under treatment in state- run Government and corporate hospitals, on the flip side, hundreds of cases of post Covid complications are on the surge making the situations worse.
The complications include loss of smell and taste, fatigue, respiratory problems, blood clots, loss of vision and hearing, encephalitis, stammering, menstrual problems, neurological disorder, epileptic attacks and inflammation as of now.
“On account of multi-inflammatory disorder, which is a Kawasaki-like sickness, individuals are getting back with high-grade fever after a month subsequent to recouping from Covid. Unlike initial days where people use to rush to hospital, now cases are being reported in the later stage due to complications”, reported a corporate hospital official in the city.
Kawasaki infection principally influences youngsters underneath the age of five. It causes high-grade fever and clot in veins. But now grown-ups are building up similar complexities.
Critical complications requiring medical attention include paralysis, heart attacks, and dialysis in addition to multi organ failure.
“The primary trigger factor for these severe post-Covid complications last till 3 months is because the covid-19 virus causes blood clot. Patients need to be treated with anticoagulants, blood thinners and anti platelets in the early stage within 10 days”, said Dr M Raja Rao, superintendent of Gandhi hospital.
44% recovered patients have worsened quality of life, 78% recovered patients complain of heart attacks, while 55% grieved of neurological illness despite 3 months from recovery.
