Veteran writer, actor, and filmmaker Posani Krishna Murali has opened up about his upcoming film Operation Aruna Reddy, describing it as a powerful story that highlights the importance of honest journalism in society. Produced, directed, and headlined by Posani himself, the film recently held a press meet in Hyderabad where the actor-filmmaker shared several interesting details about the project.
Posani revealed that Operation Aruna Reddy revolves around the life of a sincere journalist and carries a strong social message. According to him, society can improve only when journalists remain honest and fearless. Actress Hindola Chakravarthi plays the lead role of Aruna Reddy, a journalist who raises awareness among the public about the true intentions of political leaders and encourages people to make wise decisions while choosing them.
The filmmaker clarified that the movie has no connection with politics, despite featuring political themes and characters. He stated that audiences from all political backgrounds — including supporters of Telugu Desam Party, YSRCP, Congress, Janasena, BJP, and Communist parties — can comfortably watch the film. Posani also emphasized that the movie contains no vulgar dialogues or obscene scenes, making it suitable for family audiences.
Speaking confidently about the film’s writing, Posani said Operation Aruna Reddy features the best screenplay of his career and claimed it could be remembered as one of the finest screenplay-driven films in Indian cinema. He mentioned that the story has been designed in a way that keeps audiences guessing till the very end.
The film also features BJP leader Raghunandan Rao in the role of a Chief Minister. Posani shared that he personally felt Rao would perfectly suit the character and appreciated his support for accepting the role after hearing the script.
During the interaction, Posani also spoke about his political journey, saying he had supported leaders like N. T. Rama Rao, N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi, and Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at different times based on who he believed was better then. However, he clarified that he never expected political positions or personal benefits from anyone and is not a member of any political party.
