Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s much-anticipated magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ is gearing up for a grand release on 30th September.
The team is promoting the movie in full swing and the makers are leaving no stone unturned in taking Ponniyin Selvan: I into the audience.
Now according to the latest report, Ponniyin Selvan: I is set to have a monstrous opening in the US as it already collected $902K from Premiere Advance Sales. This number is recorded from 1219 shows and 459 locations, with 41,914 tickets being sold. It is expected that the historic movie would collect between $1.1M – $1.3M+ from the premiere shows, which will be 2nd highest in Kollywood history.
Produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, Ponniyin Selvan stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, among others. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman.
