A conversation between a police officer and a house owner who is believed to be a relative of the people’s representative is now creating a stir in the capital region.
A phone call recording that went viral on the internet exposes a police officer’s support for illegal mining in the Amaravathi region.
Amravati farmers have now complained about the audio and protested outside Tulluru police station. The farmer demanded the immediate arrest of the sand mafia in Amravati and asked for an inquiry on the recently stolen iron, sand, clay and gravel locally.
The farmers have alleged that the police officials are neglecting the sand mafia although they filed repeated complaints regarding the same.
CI Durga Prasad, whose voice is heard in the audio, explained that the audio was conspiratorially edited. The officer denied his support for illegal activities and said there is no place for illegal excavation of soil in the capital area.
