Former chief minister, YS Jagan finds himself in a mess after a video of his car, hitting an elderly man and crushing him went viral on social media. This man was later found out to be Singayya who had died on the way to the hospital.
In this context, Andhra Pradesh Police have officially announced that a case has been filed against Jagan in this matter.
For the tour programme of Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on 18.06.2025, the permission was given only for Ex- CM convoy and 3 cars from Tadepalli to Sattenapalli when the convoy reached near Anjaneya Swamy statue situated near Etukuru bypass under the jurisdiction of Nallapadu PS, an information received about occurrence of road accident, wherein one male person was received bleeding injuries.
Upon receipt of information, Police admitted the injured person by name Cheeli Singaiah in the hospital and he was declared brought dead. And a case has been registered based on the complaint given by his wife Cheeli Lurdhu Mary u/s 106(1) BNS.
After analyzing various video footages, CCTV footages, drone visuals, circumstantial witnesses about the incident, it was found that the deceased was seen under the wheels of Ex- CM vehicleand and the sections were altered to 105 and 49 BNS, the statement from the police department read.
