Authorities are working hard to curb the spread of corona in Guntur district. Police have repeatedly appealed to the public to not come out unnecessarily. Various punishments have been imposed to prevent them from getting on the roads again. To control it, police have punished several motorists and made them to write “we committed mistake” in a strict manner.
In a similar way, police officials came up with a new punishment in the view of increasing violators during the lockdown. The Kollur police of the Guntur Rural have been pushing for this kind of innovative thinking, which is imposed on those who are not following the lockdown regulations in the event of coronavirus spreading.
“I am a fool. I didn’t put on the mask. I would pose threat in spreading the corona virus wile fooling around the roads without a work. I play with people’s lives ”. A board was prepared by the police administration with aforementioned comments like this and made it a selfie point.
Whoever gets on the road unnecessarily and carelessly would be compelled to take a selfie at these selfie points. And that photo is posted on their phone as WhatsApp DP and made the lock down violators to post on their own social media accounts. The police would be monitoring such people frequently to test whether they are abiding by the punishment or not. The police are hoping that some of these innovative punishments would at least restrict the people from coming outside during the lock down.
