Ajman traffic police recently arrested a woman for committing traffic rules violations 414 times. There are hundreds of violation cases on her car and it is noteworthy that for three years she has been escaping from the police.
The woman was fined 2.47 lakh Dirhams (approximately Rs 48.78 lakh in Indian currency) for the violations. In total, she committed 414 violations in three years.
She said she violated traffic rules four times a week. The police warned that if the woman does not pay the amount, her car will be auctioned off.
Major Rashid Hameed Bin Hindi, chief of the Traffic Investigation and Control Department of the Ajman Police Traffic and Patrols Division, said over speed was the number one traffic violation that civilians generally commit.
Rashid said a vehicle traveling at a speed limit of more than 80 KMPH would be fined 3,000 dirhams, 23 black points, and confiscated for 60 days. Also, if the vehicle travels at a speed of more than 60 KMPH, it will be fined 2,000 dirhams, 12 black points and the vehicle will be seized for 30 days.
