The Telangana High Court has now transferred the MLAs poaching case to the CBI. This took place after the accused told the HC that they did not believe in the authenticity of the investigation being carried on by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was appointed in the state, to investigate the case.
The court had earlier dismissed the BJP’s petition asking for a CBI probe, on the grounds that it is a third-party case. However, after the accused, Ramachandra Bharati, K Nanda Kumar, and DPSKVN Simhayaji moved the SC regarding the same, the HC transferred the case to the CBI. The case was registered by TRS MLAs after they were allegedly asked to join the BJP, where they were offered monetary benefits, on the night of October 26th.
The accused were arrested on that night after the Police conducted a rife on the farmhouse of one of the BJP members, based on the tip-off by Pilot Rohith Reddy. Rohith Reddy alleged that he was offered Rs. 100 Crores by the accused if he decides to join the BJP. The accused were offered conditional bail on December 1st, but Ramachandra Bharati and Nanda Kumar were re-arrested by the police soon after their release from jail on December 8th, in connection to other cases registered against them.
