Ever since the separation of the two Telugu states happened, the state of Andhra Pradesh has been facing many problems, right from not having a proper capital, to the problem of improper development.
When the two states were initially divided, the Central Government had promised special status for Andhra Pradesh. However, it did not deliver on its promise, saying that giving special status to Andhra Pradesh is impossible. The then Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had tried several times to convince the Central Government and get a special status to Andhra Pradesh, but all of his attempts ended up to be failures.
YSRCP leader, and the present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy had criticized Chandarababu Naidu several times in the past, for not being able to get a special status to Andhra Pradesh. He even questioned how Chandrababu could give up so easily on that idea.
Now, YSRCP member Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has said that special status for Andhra Pradesh is ruled out. He further explained that despite the many efforts of Jagan, there is no chance that Andhra Pradesh will get a special status.
This statement of Pilli’s is very shocking and ironic even, considering that it was Jagan who was the one who criticized and called out Chandrababu for not trying harder to get a special status for Andhra Pradesh. This makes one question why Jagan is not trying harder for the same thing. How is it that one rule applies to Chandrababu Naidu, and another rule applies to Jagan?
On the other hand, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana have resigned their MLC posts as they have been elected as Rajya Sabha members. Their resignations have been accepted by both Jagan, and as well as the Council Secretary.
