Andhra Pradesh state panchayat raj and rural development minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy continues toa track the SEC of Andhra Pradesh, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, even though his peers have been keeping quiet, ever since the election code came into effect.
Almost as if intentionally, Peddireddy is going against every single order that the SEC has put in place, perfectly evidenced by him coming out of his house to greet the CM in Tirupati, despite the fact that Peddireddy is currently supposed to be under house arrest, until February 21st. The Chief Minister is currently visiting the Chittoor district, as part of the President’s visit to the district.
The SEC has written a letter to the Union Home Secretary, about Peddireddy’s violations of his orders, and has even sought the advice of the Union Home Ministry, following the continuous attacks of Peddireddy against a constitutional institution, like the State Election Commission.
On the other hand, Peddireddy moved a house motion in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, requesting for the cancellation of the orders issued by Nimmagadda. This caters to all orders passed by the SEC.
