Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has strongly welcomed the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025 introduced in the Lok Sabha by Union Home Minister Amit Shah under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said this historic move will protect constitutional values, strengthen democracy, and ensure clean politics in India.
Pawan Kalyan said that criminals have no place in politics and this amendment is a big step towards transparent governance. The Constitution Amendment Bill 2025 clearly states that if the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, State Ministers, or Chief Ministers are arrested and remain in custody for more than 30 consecutive days on charges carrying a minimum punishment of five years, they will be disqualified from holding office from the 31st day. They can return to their positions only after being acquitted or released through the legal process.
Highlighting past incidents, Pawan Kalyan reminded that some leaders facing corruption charges continued to govern from jail. He said with this reform, such practices will end permanently. He stressed that elected representatives must serve among the people, not from behind prison walls.
The Jana Sena Party leader thanked the Central Government for bringing this crucial amendment in Parliament and said it will help in building a strong, corruption-free, and people-friendly democracy.
With this bold step by the Modi government, Pawan Kalyan believes India is moving towards a cleaner political system where governance is free from criminal influence.
