An unexpected moment drew attention during the national launch of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G) in Andhra Pradesh, as chants in support of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan briefly interrupted an official speech at the event.
The programme was held at Mukkavaripalli in Railway Koduru constituency, Tirupati district, where Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan formally launched the flagship rural development initiative. The event was attended by senior officials, public representatives, and a large gathering of people from across the region.
During the programme, Rohit Bansal, Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, was addressing the audience when several attendees began chanting “Pawan Kalyan… Pawan Kalyan.” The repeated slogans briefly disrupted his speech, prompting a short pause before the programme resumed normally.
Videos of the incident quickly surfaced on social media, where the moment attracted widespread attention. The chants reflected the enthusiasm of a section of the audience present at the event and became one of the talking points from the programme.
The Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G) is aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods and expanding employment opportunities across the country. According to the announced framework, the scheme seeks to provide up to 125 days of wage employment annually for every eligible rural household, with a minimum daily wage of ₹300. The initiative is designed to enhance rural infrastructure, create sustainable livelihood opportunities, and improve economic conditions in villages.
Speaking at the launch, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the Centre’s commitment to accelerating rural development and empowering villages through improved infrastructure and employment opportunities. The launch from Andhra Pradesh was described as a significant milestone in the government’s vision of building a developed India by 2047.
While the programme primarily focused on the rollout of the new rural employment initiative, the spontaneous chants for Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan added an unexpected moment that drew considerable attention both at the venue and on social media.
