What about on-screen performances?
Shah Rukh Khan makes the biggest comeback of all time. He is just terrific as Pathaan. He just lits the screen ablaze with his extraordinary screen presence and enthralls all his audiences through his trademark mannerisms. He is superb in all the action scenes as well.
Deepika Padukone is excellent as Rubina. Her role has quite a few shades and the talented actress pulls it off with ease. She oozes glamour all through the film and she is red hot, especially in her introduction ‘Besharam Rang’ song.
John Abraham shines once again as the main villain. He comes up with a stylish act and delivers a decent performance as Jim, a rogue agent turned leader of ‘Outfit X’.
Ashutosh Rana & Dimple Kapadia are pretty good in their respective supporting roles.
And finally, Salman Khan makes a smashing entry into the film as Tiger, and his entire sequence with SRK is just fireworks all around in the theatres.
What about off-screen talents?
Director Siddharth Anand gets all the ingredients right for a stylish action entertainer. The way he handles the scale of the film & style of the actors deserves applause.
The songs by Vishal and Sheykhar are foot-tapping. ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ which comes towards the end credits is the best song of the film.
The background score by Sanchit Balhara & Ankit Balhara is a big disappointment. There are many scenes that could have been elevated by the score, but they miss this opportunity big time.
The cinematography by Satchith Paulose is brilliant. All the action scenes are shot on a great scale and the film looks grand on screens coz of the superb camera work.
The edit by Aarif Sheikh is good and has a crisp run time for an action film like this.
The production values by Yash Raj Films are top-notch.
