Advance ticket sales for Kannappa, a large-scale devotional film led by actor-producer Vishnu Manchu, are set to begin this week. Bookings will open on Monday, June 23 in North America and on Wednesday, June 25 in India, ahead of the film’s worldwide release on Friday, June 27, 2025.
The film, centered around the story of Bhakta Kannappa and his devotion to Lord Shiva, is slated for release in over 5,400 screens globally, making it one of the widest releases for a Telugu devotional film to date.
India: 4,300+ screens have been locked, including IMAX, Screen X, and 4DX formats across major multiplex chains.
International: 1,100+ locations confirmed, including 200+ premiere venues in the United States, setting a new overseas release record for its genre.
Backed by strong pre-release distribution deals and bulk corporate bookings, industry estimates suggest the film could aim for a ₹100-crore opening day worldwide, a benchmark reached by only a few Telugu-language blockbusters so far.
Speaking ahead of the release, lead actor and producer Vishnu Manchu stated: “Our goal is to bring the story of Bhakta Kannappa to a wider audience. We hope the film connects with viewers across regions.”
Kannappa features an ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, along with Mohanlal, Prabhas, Mohan Babu, R. Sarath kumar, and Brahmanandam. The film is supported by visual effects from Wētā Workshop and music composed by Stephen Devassy.
