Netflix has confirmed the streaming release date for Retro, the recent action-packed drama starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film will be available on the platform starting May 31, 2025, in Tamil, Telugu, and several other Indian languages.
Notably, the film is making its OTT debut less than a month after its theatrical release—a relatively short gap that reflects a swift transition to digital platforms.
Although Retro created buzz ahead of its release, it struggled to make a mark at the box office, particularly in the Telugu-speaking regions. With its arrival on Netflix, there’s hope it might reach a wider audience and gain a better reception online.
The film also features Joju George, Nassar, Vidhu, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Backed by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment, Retro features music by Santhosh Narayanan.
