Netflix, one of India’s leading OTT platforms, is renowned for its diverse content and high-quality streaming experience. However, recent developments have stirred some disappointment among users.
The company has announced its decision to restrict password sharing outside of a single household. According to the official statement, a Netflix account can only be used within the confines of one household, permitting all members to enjoy the service anywhere they go, be it at home, on the go, or even while on vacation.
This move comes as the streaming giant seeks to implement new features like Transfer Profile and Manage Access and Devices. Email notifications have already been sent to Indian users, informing them of this policy change.
Consequently, sharing Netflix accounts with friends or non-household members will no longer be possible. While this update aims to ensure fair usage and protect the interests of the platform, it might pose an inconvenience to users accustomed to sharing their subscriptions with close acquaintances.
