The OTT content is the trending item in the digital world at the moment. Especially in this lockdown period, right content is the gold. The producers just need to scoop it out only if they hit the right chords. But the Telugu producers are in budding stage in terms of these web series zonal.
At first, Ashwini Dutt’s daughter Swapna Dutt entered this producing content in OTT platforms and then Allu Aravind wanted to make the most of it with a grand launch of ‘AHA’ app which is a disaster. The likes of Sharat Maraar, Krish and Navdeep are also trying to produce content.
Till now, the noted OTT contents in Telugu are Swapna Dutt’s Gangstars for Amazon Prime, Sharat Marar’s remake of the Bengali web series as ‘Sin’ for Aha and Krish’s Mastis for the same. Each of these series lacks a riveting story and intriguing narration. They are stuffed with routine and beaten to death content.
Now, another popular filmmaker Sai Korrapati wants to enter this zone after facing a tough period in movies. Initially, he made films with interesting content and later many of his films were bombed at the Box-Office. If he really wants to make an impact among the Telugu audience which none of the above producers have failed to do, he has to choose something innovative that this space loves.
So, the Telugu producers need to know that a web series is very different when compared to a film and different content with better characterization is must and should to make a difference.
