After Somu Veerraju was appointed as the president of the AP BJP in the place of Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, many raised their eye-brows questioning Veerraju’s ability in bringing a revolutionary change in the party. After the BJP’s alliance with Janasena some momentum was shifted towards the Saffron Party and in addition to this Veerraju is acting much like Pawan Kalyan in many issues.
Initially, as soon as he took charge as the new AP BJP president, he sent strong signals to TDP and a few leaders in his party that he is not going to tolerate any soft corner towards the people in yellow in the party. In the past, when Pawan opted not to continue any relation with TDP, he did send the same kind of signals to Chandra Babu as well.
Now, Somu Veerraju, who is known for his aggressive attitude, all of a sudden went thoughtful to bring some change in the party members. However, putting the service angle forward, the new decision taken by Somu Veerraju is that those who come to meet him should no longer bring shawls to facilitate him as a token of respect.
Veerraju advised the party ranks not to bring shawls to those who came to meet me and to bring clothes that would be useful to the poor instead. ‘I am discontinuing the program of taking shawls from today. I urge you to bring me only clothes that will help the poor instead of shawls that will be brought in honor of me when you people meet me,” he said in a clear statement.
AP people and Janasainiks are picturising a clear image of Pawan Kalyan in Somu Veerraju’s words. Janasenani has advised a lot of these kinds of service for the people and Veerraju’s selfless approach is being widely appreciated by the party ranks as well.
