The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) tried to stage the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and provide its enthusiastic fans with a reason to cheer after a long duration of misery caused due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
However, the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation in India had shattered the plans and now the venue has been changed to UAE.
As per the official information, the venue for T20 World Cup 2021 has been shifted to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The much-awaited tournament is set to last from 17 October to 14 November.
However, the BCCI will remain the hosts of the event, which will now be held across four venues – Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
The forthcoming edition will be the first T20 World Cup for men played since 2016 when West Indies defeated England in the final in India.
