CM Ramesh, a former Telugu Desam Party candidate, shifted his loyalties to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019, after the TDP met with utter failure in the Andhra Pradesh general elections. It now looks like Ramesh shifting his loyalties has paid off well for him.
According to the latest reports, which are unconfirmed as of yet, the iron ore mining at Obulapuram at D Hirehal Mandal of Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh is said to have been given to Rithwik projects Private Limited, which is supported by Ramesh. A total of 11 mines are spread in the reserved forests of Obulapuram in D. Hirehal Mandal, close to Bellary in Karnataka, which are rich in iron ore.
These mines were previously controlled by Obulapuram Mining Company, which was owned by Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, whose scam in the industry was busted by the CBI in 2011. After a two-year-long survey by the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, in these areas, to prevent any encroachment, mining areas have been identified. While which parts the Rithwik Projects have been given are still unclear, if this project is finalised, it will be a golden opportunity for Ramesh. Rithwik Projects has b=previosuly been involved in various projects, including mining, power sector, Railways, highways, irrigation and building construction, and is currently been undertaking iron ore mining at Kalta iron ore,
