Houston police have arrested a 39-year-old Florida nurse who threatened to kill US Vice President Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris, 56, of Indian descent, won the US presidential election as vice president last year.
As a result, she became the first South Asian American to be elected as the Vice President of the United States. Niviane Petit Phelps, of Florida, deliberately made repeated threats to kill Harris. The U.S. Secret Service arrested Phelps after an investigation.
Phelps has been with Jackson Health Systems since 2001. Phelps sent several videos to her husband in prison via JP (a computer application that allows family members to talk to jail inmates).
The videos show President Joe Biden swaying with hatred towards Kamala Harris and others. In addition, Phelps claims in another video that she will kill Kamal Harris. Phelps was seen holding a gun and smiling at a shooting range in a photo captured by investigators. She took her weapons license in February for this.
