The Union government gave good news for the Indians living abroad. The Center is providing an opportunity for Non-Resident Indians to cast their votes in virtual mode.
Since they are also Indians, it is necessary to count their vote, too to maintain democracy in the country.
In this background, the Ministry of External Affairs has written a letter to the Election Commission.
In the letter, they have asked the EC to allow Non-Resident Indians(NRI’s) to vote remotely through Electronically-Transmitted Postal Ballot System(ETPBS) from their country of residence.
As per the Times Of India report, the EC proposal stated that an NRI would be issued a postal ballot electronically after he fills in Form 12.
