Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) would not be applicable in the state. The home minister assured the Muslim community that NRC would not be appropriate in the state amidst constant pressure to clarify its stand on the CAA.
On Thursday, the Home Minister told the media that there is no need to be afraid of NRC. It will not apply to Telangana. Mahmood Ali also said that not only Pakistan and Bangladesh but also Hindus, who are victims of harassment anywhere in the world, should get a place in India.
But people living in India for decades should not be harassed in the name of NRC. The Home Minister said that not all people would be able to present their birth certificate.
Let us tell you that the movement is going on across the country at present about the National Civil Registration (NRC), National Population Register (NPR), and Civil Amendment Act (CAA). Many university students are mainly agitating against NRC, NPR, and CAA.
