Baahubali went on to be a massive blockbuster and was able to beat even the then Bollywood biggest blockbusters like Dangal, Bajrangi Bhaijaan etc. After the success of Baahubali, every other star hero film, that witnessed success at the box office went on to use a tag called “Non-Baahubali” record, indirectly implying that it is impossible to break the record set by the magnum opus.
Srimanthudu, Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu and even the recent Maharshi is continuing to use the term “Non-Baahubali record”. Baahubali has witnessed over 1000 Cr collection at the box office, while the Telugu cinema market, other than Baahubali is finding it tough to touch even 100 Cr mark.
The multiple language release, universal content, massive budget, most importantly Rajamouli’s direction, all-together helped the film to make it exceptionally big at the box office. It would almost be impossible for any other Telugu film in the near future to touch the mark set by Baahubali.
However, it should be noted that Rajamouli is coming up with ‘RRR’, taking Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the male leads. The huge star casting, massive budget, universal appealing content and Rajamouli’s direction are again the ingredients of this new film called ‘RRR’.
So, obviously this film is expected to cross Baahubali records and bring in a new term called “Non-RRR records.” In that case, instead of Non-Baahubali or Non-RRR, why don’t we pick a common name called “Non-Rajamouli records”?
